Nam Dang, M.D., Ph.D. is Chief of Hematological Malignancies for the Nevada Cancer Institute. His research has focused on the use of cellular processes as mechanisms for developing anti-cancer therapies. Studying apoptosis, immune activation, cellular signal transduction, and cell cycle regulation, he has been trying to determine many of the functions involved in cancer formation within the body, especially as it concerns leukemia and lymphoma. His research merited the Howard Hughes Medical Institute Postdoctoral Research Fellowship for Physicians and the MD Anderson Cancer Center Physician-Scientist Award. He received his MD and PhD at Harvard University, and completed his residency at the Massachusetts General Hospital.
