Dr. Wing-Chung (John) Chan is Professor and Director of Hematology Laboratories, Department of Pathology and Microbiology, Co-director of the Center for Leukemia and Lymphoma Research and Co-leader of the Hematologic Malignancies Program of the Eppley Cancer Institute, University of Nebraska Medical Center.
Dr. Chan received his medical degree at the University of Hong Kong and completed a residency in pathology at the University of Chicago. He has served as a reviewer and advisor for the National Insitutes of Health and National Cancer Institute. He currently serves on the Executive Committee of the U.S. and Canadian Academy of Pathology.
His main research interests are in the pathobiology and pathogenesis of lymphomas. He is also actively engaged in the development and refinement of molecular assays in the diagnosis of lymphomas and leukemias, in the detection of minimal residual disease after treatment and in delineating the relationship between various types of malignant lymphomas.
